Hi!

I have been watching some videos by David Congreave, since his launch of Instant Website Creation, because I wanted to show you how knowledgeable this guy really is. I am a bit gutted that I wasn’t into internet marketing when I lived round the corner to him; now I live miles away I don’t see him every week to pick his brains!

You can see that David really knows what he is about. He is also willing to help and if you get stuck on any of his projects then email him, and he will do his best to help.

I have been trying to put a video in here for you but it is not happening today on this blog, so here are some links to his videos instead.

Hello there,

Yes its a double posting today. That is because of something rather special.

The eagle-eyed among you will have spotted my new banner over there. This is something I strongly urge you to take a look at. It was made by my friend, David Congreave. David is a great guy, I knew him before I even got into internet marketing. When I saw it I immediately gave him a call, because I was amazed that he was giving this stuff away. (I sound like one of those g***, I am sorry!)

Anyway, I took advantage of it. The first bit is free – hurrah our favourite word! – but there is a small charge for the more indepth information. You will see if you do click on it, that there are only 100 of the indepth information ebooks being sold. Now, I know that lots and lots of the gurus say that, but then they sell millions of them.

But I know that Dave Congreave is as honest as the day is long – I am not kidding here! – so I asked him directly. And he told me that yes, when the 100 run out, they are gone. There is something that replaces them, but the original 100 are exactly that, 100.

I bought it and I was blown away.

There are things on there that are ridiculously easy to set up. I actually set up one of his projects myself in about four hours. Now, it’s only been up less than a day, so it’s not possible to talk about the success of it yet! But I am very hopeful about it and I will let you know.

One other thing. I cannot tell you much about this because along with the full product is a confidentiality agreement. Yes folks, this is serious stuff.  I cannot talk about it, since I signed the confidentiality agreement, which I wouldn’t dream of breaking. This stuff will not be leaked onto the internet for at least five years. So if you do decide to buy the full copy (if there are any left) you are going to be five years ahead of the game.

You know that I like to let you know about free stuff, because we all need a bit of help these days. But do at least consider the paid for product, if you can possibly afford it,  because you will not be disappointed.

Ok, now I am going to do some work. I am beginning to feel guilty about those lenses, from my last post!

Best wishes,

Ruth

PS Please message me if you have any questions about what I have talked about today – I will do my best to answer.

Hello,

Today I wanted to show readers where they can get ideas for a niche.

For many people interested in IM, finding a niche is the first of many puzzles that the need to sort out. This isn’t helped by the fact that some people say – write about what you know – about something you love. Somehow that makes any reasonable thought about something a person likes to do fly right out of their brain! We are left thinking “I don’t have anything I know much about” or “I don’t have anything I particularly am into!”

Others say find something that people love, a niche that is popular. Then find your own angle. That can be easier said than done.

I actually think that the reason people say write about what you know is because it is much easier to write say, thirty articles about something you are passionate about.

However, if you do not want to do that, then find something that is popular and interesting, a new trend. A good place to look for new trends is provided by Google. Google trends show you the things that people are putting into the search engines.  View Here. The URL is http://www.google.com/trends.

Another place to look is ebay pulse. View Here. The URL is http://pulse.ebay.com/.  You can see which are the things most people are looking for, this can give you good ideas for affiliate products.

Nearly everything you buy online is through an affiliate link on way or another. I have a few lenses at www.squidoo.com with which I promote affiliate products, and even though they have only been up for a couple of months, they have started to bring in a trickle of money. To be honest, I don’t spend a great deal of time on them, I should promote them more really. But even if they only bring in $20-30 every couple of weeks, it’s ok for something I spend minutes a week on. (Sometimes not even that! )

Another place you can go for niche information is dmoz. View Here. The URL is http://www.dmoz.com. Dmoz is a huge directory of all sorts of information and you can dig deep into a section to find a niche that suits you. It is totally free, as well.

Once you have decided on a niche, then you can go and look for affiliate companies. These will have lots of different online stores on their books which will provide you with banners. Then you put the banners on your site or on your lens, anywhere there is traffic. People click and when they buy something, you get a percentage. Obviously the more traffic you send, the more people will click, the more you money you will make.

I use a company that deals with UK businesses.  It’s called AffiliateWindow, View Here and it is pretty reliable. You do pay a deposit, I think it is to weed out wannabes but you do get it back after the first month with your earnings. There are hundreds like Affiliate Window all over the internet. Find one that suits you.

I wish you all the best with that!

“Good morning, Kyle.

I have spent the better part of the last 48 hours doing research on WealthyAffiliates.  I’m an entrepreneurial salesperson, always looking for an interesting way to both communicate effectively and influence buying decisions.  I have to say that it was difficult to find even one negative comment about your service.  So, needless to say, I’m excited to begin examining how to use my skills in this environment.

Anyhow, I wanted to introduce myself and tell you that I look forward to learning.”

Now, if you have been following my journey, you know that it hasn’t been an easy ride. IM, like anything else requires hard work. But it sure makes it easier when you have a great system to guide you.

Hello!

I have had a couple of days off, we have had great weather here in Scotland. You won’t hear that too often!

While I have been enjoying the sunshine and getting in some driving practise, (my test is 4th June), I have been thinking about this blog and how some people come in and read a few posts, but some are just driving by and maybe only read the top post.

So because of that I wanted to recommend again the unbelieveable offer from Stompernet. If you haven’t heard of (more…)

Hi,

I just wanted to bring to your attention, especially you British readers, this organization. Addictions UK works with people with all sorts of addictions. Rather than working in groups in churches, or offices, it works more remotely because the client receives DVDs and information, plus 30 minutes a day with a counsellor one to one on the phone.

My friend David Congreave (The Lucid Blog) is working with  the organization helping with their SEO, him being an SEO genius, and he has asked everyone to do a little something to help.

To find out more about this great organization, visit here:Addiction Treatment

Thanks for all your support,

Best wishes,

Ruth

Hello,

Can I just tell you something about the whole internet marketing business as a whole? It stinks worse than rotting fish.

Anyone with guru status is particularly dangerous.

This is how it works.

Person starts to get interested in internet marketing. Person works like a dog (see that – hard work – I mean 16 hour days here)  and achieves some success. Person (usually guided by another person who had trodden the same path) then opens a mentoring programme. Convinces new marketers that he has “the secret of success”/the missing piece that everyone wants/the secret key that will bring them millions. Charges them for mentoring them. Makes promises, for instance, you will earn the cost of the course back by the end of it.

Then there is the clever bit. Of the five hundred people guru charges for mentoring them, guru picks the top few people who seem the most keen. Perhaps they are the people who make the most noise. I am not too sure of the process, however, the Chosen Few.

These Chosen Few get very well coached, but the rest of the keen but less noisy get the rest of the pickings. They do not get the time and coaching necessary. Guru, who before was very open to email and contact, now has a “help desk” that makes it impossible for people to get him. That is, unless they are part of the Chosen Few who have personal mobile numbers/cell numbers.

Very clever guru has competitions so that lots of students make videos of their journeys which are then featured as part of the next mentoring programme. The Chosen Few can affiliate for guru, spreading the word about how successful they are because of his coaching. Thus guru achieves higher status, making it more likely that guru will get new internet marketers to pay for mentoring.

The maths is interesting:

$500 x 500 newbies = $250,000 for guru. First level “mentoring”.

$1997 x 500 newbies = $998,500 for guru. Second level “mentoring”.

And so on. In the meantime of course, there are the project launches and other promotions from fellow gurus products, as well as the general sales of own gurus projects.

So, my dear friends, it is all very well if you are one of the Chosen Few. If you are not one of the Chosen Few however, then it is pretty much tough luck.

Oh, you may say – what about the promise: “If you do not earn the cost of the course by the end of it”?

Totally bogus. Unless you pay by credit card, you will not get it back. And don’t rely on PayPal. Mentoring is an intangible product therefore there is nothing Paypal will do about it.

My opinion: If you want to learn internet marketing, and you have $1997 to give a guru, pay for a year at Wealthy Affiliate and put the rest into the hands of the nearest childrens charity. I don’t care if you don’t buy Wealthy Affiliate through my link – get it where you like.

Just don’t throw good money away, because I can assure you, it’s extremely likely guru mentoring will not be worth it.

Best wishes,

Ruth

Hi,

There are a quite a few things being promoted at the moment and to me, there are two outstanding offers that I would urge anyone who is interested in a successful marketing career to take advantage of.

The first one I have to tell you about is Stompernet. You may or may not have heard of them, but they are the Kings of SEO. What these guys don’t know about SEO is not worth knowing. They know the sort of stuff that us ordinary folks brain melt, like they know how to work out Googles algorithms and mind-blowing information like that. (more…)

Well I got a sale from my website today. Actually I found it today, it was on the 15th that I got the sale – I don’t check clickbank every day. It was from my site in the dating niche, so I am very pleased about that.

I was thinking, I have been in Wealthy Affiliate now for three months, just over. During that time it has been a steep learning curve for me, and to be honest I am still learning. There are loads of people on WA more experienced than I am, and I am happy to say that because I have learned from them. (more…)
