List Building is back!
Posted by Gale10 in Uncategorized on January 16th, 2009
Hello!
I have been at my mothers again, that is why you haven’t heard much from me. The thing about my family is that they don’t really understand about internet marketing, and they don’t understand that it’s important for me to work! They do not see “playing on the computer” as work, which makes it difficult to do anything while I am there. I tend to get accused of being unsociable!
Back to traffic - the competition I spoke about in December closed and I am delighted to say that Jim Gallgher of www.kotobot.com won the prize with a huge amount of traffic. Well done Jim!
You may well notice that many of the tips I have given here are ones that Jim has suggested, what a fantastic reward for being so helpful to so many people.
Last week we had a bonus module on the coaching course by Alex Jeffreys. It was given by the wonderful Maria Andros who is also known as the Queen of Video. She is great and gave huge amounts of information and tips on video marketing. The new competition is about making a video, there will be two prizes of $1,500 dollars each. Maria Andros will help Alex judge the videos, so it’s very exciting. I am also pleased that Maria recommends one of the products that I also use, Traffic Geyserwhich is a real plus for spreading out traffic all over the internet - over forty different sites including RSS feeds and podcasts.
I am about half way through catching up with module five on the coaching programme, so I will be writing more about this tomorrow when I finish it. It is high calibre stuff, very interesting and as always Alex manages to put things over in a really easy to understand way.
So, I will be back again tomorrow to give more of the outstanding information that is provided. Until then,
Best wishes,
Ruth

List Building is possible today!

Hello!
Yes, at last I feel slightly better, hurrah!
As Alex says, we should go round other peoples sites and pick up traffic tips. So dutifully I go round some other peoples sites and I notice two things.
First thing - lots and lots of sites on the list from Garrys site don’t work! I don’t mean the left hand side list, I mean the list of other students. These are the ones that found everyone else a bit later, myself included in that list.
A lot of these blogs are not coming up in the browser. This is a sad thing it suggests that people are dropping out. One guy has dropped out because he noticed an increase in his email. Now I haven’t noticed that - I get about 50 emails a day and respond to about 3 of them. I delete loads and some get filed. I think that is not a great excuse to leave the programme. I guess if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!
But it is a shame about the people who’s blogs have just not come up. I hope they are working on their blogs and they will be back with us soon. That will make me feel much better. However, I do know that statistically speaking only about 5% will continue the course and go on to make money and be successful. So the fact that there is so many of us is an indicator of Alex success. Fantastic!
Ok, on a more positive note I found a blog with some good traffic tips - firstly adding a FeedJit box. I had never heard of them but Jim Gallagher said he had got traffic and converting traffic as well (two buyers I believe) from this. If you notice down below I have added a FeedJit box to my site. I have no idea what it will do to my traffic because I only installed it a few minutes ago. But lets hope I get some good conversions from it - goodness knows, I do need them!
The second is more contraversial. I have joined a traffic exchange. Jim Gallagher says he got traffic with it - I am happy to give it a try. There is a free version or you can go for gold or platinum which you have to pay for. The traffic exchange is called TS25, they did give me a link but I am not putting it up until I am sure it works personally. I don’t want to recommend a dud.
I will also tell you the traffic tips that I personally do.
I am a member of USfreeads, and I have put up lots of adverts on there and got a few sign-ups from there.
I have written a couple of articles one of which is published, two are waiting confirmation.
I have got one video on Myspace, plus I have videos on fourteen sites through Hey, Spread! and fifteen sites through Traffic Geyser (see post below).
I also belong to a variety of forums, and I post on them with my link in my signature, although less in the last few days with me being under the weather.
Apart from write on this blog, that’s all I have done. I am not going to tell you how many sign-ups I have.
So, thats all I can help anyone with today, although I will keep you informed of any great things that happen, of course.
Jim Gallaghers blog is www.kotobot.com.
Take care, and
Best wishes,
Ruth Stewart

Traffics Little Helpers!

Hello there,
I promised I would tell you about a couple of products that I have used, both of which are pretty good. These are products that are great for getting traffic to your site, using video.
The first one is a site called Hey,Spread! (www.heyspread.com). At Hey,Spread! you can upload your videos and they will post them to up 17 different video websites. You need to register with them first, but you can do that easily at the Hey,Spread site.
This site isn’t free, but its really not hugely expensive at 3cents per video per site. So if you upload one video to all 17 sites it will cost a fairly reasonable 51 cents. You can prepay through PayPal and very quickly have your videos uploaded all over!
Hey,spread will also let you see how your traffic has been for the videos you have uploaded, which is 21cents. It’s a great site for when you are starting out because it means your videos are on lots of different sites, all generating organic traffic for your site, and the cost is easily controllable, you do what you can afford.
The big brother to Hey,Spread is a formidable, powerful traffic provider called Traffic Geyser. Now, Internet Marketing Supremo, Frank Kern refers to this as “A Black Box That Prints Money” and I can see his point. It does so much!
If you have a video, it will send out your video to video sites like YouTube and others, it will link up to podcasts and RSS feeds; it will basically spread your video over 35 different places, far and wide!
If you haven’t made a video - fear not! Because not only does Traffic Geyser have a Slideshow Creator which will help you make a slideshow and then turn it into a video for you; also it has a huge amount of tutorial videos to walk you step by step through the whole process. If that isn’t enough, there is a forum where helpful people give advice to newer clients. There is also a very motivating Success Stories section on the forum, with everyone saying how they got to page one of Google (often against hundreds of thousands of entries).
Now, as you can imagine, this is somewhat more expensive than Hey,Spread!
BUT……I went on and was offered the Platinum Package - when I said no thank you I was offered the Gold Package to try for 30 days, for $1! After which its $99 per month. Well, I thought, it could be worth a try. To be honest I haven’t used it as much as I would have liked to because I have been very busy with www.listbuildingwithaj.com and this blog, but I think it could be great in the right hands.
So there you are, in my opinion, both worth a look!
Best wishes,
Ruth
