Wealthy Affiliate Member

Hello!

I cannot tell you how much I am learning as a Wealthy Affiliate! It is just unbelieveable. I am embarrassed to say I found Wealthy Affiliate a long time ago - probably 5 months ago. I just didn’t join at the time because they only had year memberships then, which was too expensive for me. Now they have monthly memberships which are so much better.  They are just more affordable for newbies who want to make a start on a career in affiliate marketing.

I am learning so many little tips, but then it’s the tips that make all the difference. I guess most marketers know and see the wealth in say, affiliate marketing, but there are all the little extra tips that make the difference between earning very little or nothing - to earning a whole lot more. I think maybe it’s those subtle differences that turn a few sales into a torrent of sales.

I have decided that I am going to blog about Wealthy Affiliate members and what they earn - well more exactly what I earn. I want to really prove that it works, because I believe it will work for me. Frankly, if it works for me then it will work for anyone who is willing to put in the hours.

Something that someone said on the forum at Wealthy Affiliate struck a chord with me. He said that he spent an hour or so a day for a week trying his hand at affilite marketing. He was about to dismiss it when he hadn’t had the results he wanted. Then he thought about it and said  - kids working at MacDonalds get more than five hours training. Why do I think I am going to earn big at this after trying for five hours?

The point is that nothing worthwhile is acheivable without effort, and also without education. It takes 10,000 hours to become a virtuoso player of an instrument. But without a teacher it is a near impossible task! How are you looking at affiliate marketing, or internet marketing? If you want to be good at it then you need an accomplished teacher, preferably more than one.

I am totally convinced I have the answer. I have, however, been convinced before!

Watch this space everyone - it will show how I do with Wealthy Affiliate. I will let you know as soon as I start making money, and how much I make. Then you will be able to see for yourself if Wealthy Affiliate is worth the investment for you as well.

Best wishes,

Ruth

List Building with Alex Jeffreys - getting traffic.

bodyforblog5I was thinking about traffic, you know, of the cars vans and lorries variety. Real traffic. The really heavy traffic comes when everyone is heading the same way, usually around holiday time, and its usually because they are off to do something fun.

So to get traffic to our blogs, we need to make sure something fun is happening here at our blogs.

We we were kids we hated the teachers who would just stand and talk, lecturing us. We bloggers don’t want to have the same reputation as those teachers! Adults don’t like lectures either.

So from now on, I am going to tell you the things I have been doing to get traffic in a short snappy and (hopefully) sometimes humourous way.

If you look down the side bar of this blog you can see I have a new pic, about internet forums. Internet forums are great because you can go in there, help people, get a good reputation and have your url in the signature at the bottom of your comment. This forum goes one further, if you leave comments and refer people, they let you put up banners. So not only do you benefit yourself you benefit others, then benefit yourself again! Fantastic!

Second thing - you know when you see that item on QVC and you buy it, and then forget it in the kitchen cupboard? We have all done it - it seemed like a great idea at the time! Well, don’t do what I did and forget a traffic exchange I had signed up with for free, I went there today because someone had sent me a message - and realized I had credits that I could swap for traffic! So I quickly spent those to get some traffic here, of course.

Remember, if you want to learn much more about building your list, getting good traffic and building your business in 2009, sign up to the ebook, List Building with Alex. He is our guide, and the whole team are learning loads.

Best wishes,

Ruth

Pinging - helps with traffic, SEO and list building

Ping.sg 1st Anniversary Party and Blog Awards

Hello there,

I have some news on pinging - I have to confess it is something that I don’t understand fully still. But from a layperson to another, pinging reminds sites that you have a new post. Now I had read that you don’t need to ping blogs because with wordpress, it pings for you. Which it does. One ping site.

How many ping sites are there? Well I don’t know but there are a lot more than one! Probably in fact there are thousands. But to get you started if you have a blog and you want to get the word out and get more traffic, more comments, more links and therefore move up higher in the SEO stakes, then you need to add these to your blog.

If you have a self hosted wordpress blog like this one, you need to go to your dashboard. You need to scroll down to Settings, click, then click on writing. If you scroll down again it will show you the box where there is one pinging site.

Copy this list and paste it in there:

Your site will get a lot more exposure now!

I would love to tell you that I had found this out on my own, but thanks need to go back to the Fortunate 500 forum (available only to Alex Jeffreys students, sorry) where I discovered this information. But sure enough, it will help bloggers everywhere and it’s great if we can all help one another!

So there you go, thats my tip of the day so far. If I find anything else of interest today, I will be sure to let you know!

Best wishes,

Ruth

P.S. Here is a video from the fantastic Matt to show you how to add pinglist to your blog.

How to update your pinglist on Wordpress blog!

List Building all over the world!

treck outs

Hello!

Well, good morning, and it is a good morning because I got traffic in the night!  I am so happy! I would thoroughly recommend Feedjit. It’s free, and it shows you not just how many people have come through your blog but also where they come from. Lots of pretty flags to go on your site. I feel like the traffic is zooming past>>>>>.

I just want a few of my lovely readers to sign up to the newsletter and maybe even get the List Building System. They will get all the information we have got to help us build a list of people all interested in their products! What could be better?

Also, regarding traffic, I have a link to an interesting article I found on ProBlogger.com. It gives three good tips on getting more traffic. It is quite an old article but the information is still relevant. Here it is:

http://www.problogger.net/archives/2005/12/30/three-simple-actions-that-doubled-my-website-traffic-in-30-days/

I also noticed that there were many people who were starting out in blogging and wanted to get more tips, which proves there are people out there looking for the kind of information on traffic that we are putting on our blogs.

I actually think that its interesting finding out all this stuff - even doing the research. It feels a bit like panning for gold, I feel great when I find a useful little nugget I can include.

If I find anything else interesting I will most certainly add it.

Until then, best wishes,

Ruth
